• gomlek degistirir gibi dillerindeki belirli kelimelerin gunluk kullanimlarini degistiren ingilizlerin son atagi sonrasinda cope atilan bir kisaltmadir. eskiden ingilzce ogretmenlerimiz kesinlikle bu sekilde^* kullanilmasini solerdi bizlere^* ama artik cannot olarak kullaniyorlar, neymis, moda!

• kesme işaretiyle kullanılan "not" olumsuzluk eki yardımcı fiile veya modala "...n't" şeklinde eklenir... ör: are not, aren't... is not, isn't... did not, didn't... do not, don't... should not, shouldn't...
  
  ancak "can"e eklenen "not", cann't şeklinde kısa yazıldığında dilbilgisi bakımından (büyük ihtimalle telaffuzu zorlaştığı için) böyle bir kullanımı yoktur, can't yazdığınızda da olumsuz "not" ekinin kullanım şeklinin dışına çıkmış olursunuz... bu sebeple siz can ile beraber olumsuzluk eki kullanacaksanız cannottan başka bir yazım şekli kullanmayın... doğrusu budur...
  
  demişti hocam... "ben de, madem kural böyle will not nasıl won't oluyor, may notın neden kısa kullanımı yoktur? atma hocam din kardeşiyiz..." diyememiştim... hoca haklı mıdır hala bilmem ama sayesinde can't yerine cannot demenin daha uygun olduğunu öğrenmiştim...
