  aslında harika birer edebiyat eseri masallar, diyor. çocuk edebiyatı diyerek bu eserlerin neden bir kalıba sıkıştırıldığını anlamadığını söylüyor.
  
  çocukları, gençleri ve nihayetinde şehirleri etkileyen, medenileştirir masallar. ve o hayran olduğumuz film endüstrisi de masal dinleyen, masal okuyan çocukların eseridir. fantazi edebiyatının babasının da çocuk edebiyatı olduğunu belirtmek gerek.
  
  masallarla ilgili çok az bilinen gerçekler vardır. mesela çocuk edebiyatı eseri sayılan peter pan çocuklar için yazılmamıştır. istismar vurgusu vardır hikâyede ancak çokça yapıldığı gibi
  yayıncılar ve okurlar bu kitabı da çocuk edebiyatı kategorisine koyuvermiştir işte.
  
  son olarak videoda kendi kitaplarından hangisini en çok sevdiği sorulduğunda önce sevmediğim bir şeyi zaten yayınlamam ama iki kitabıma baya düşkünüm, onları söyleyeyim diyor.
  
  birincisi, the great fairy tale tradition. hem çevirmiş, hem yorumlamış, hem de tarihini yazmış bu masalların. 20 yıllık bir çalışmanın ürünü.
  
  "spells and enchantments" diye bir eseri varmış onu da yayınlamak istemiş ancak yayıncılarını ikna edememiş. bu kitap, grimm kardeşler ve andersen öncesine eğiliyormuş ve miyop olan yani bu iki oluşumdan ötesini görmeyen masalseverler için yazılan bir antolojiymiş.
  
  ikinci düşkün olduğu kitabı ise, fairy tales and the art of subversion. bu kitapta masalları analiz etmiş. masalların batı dünyasının ve dünyanın modernleşmesinde ve kültüründe, sosyalleşmesinde nasıl bir etkiye sahip olduğunu açıklamış. bebeklik, çocukluk, gençlik döneminden başlayıp hayatları etkilediğini yazmış. film endüstrisine dek nasıl uzandığını anlatmış. sadece bir edebiyat formu olmayıp walt disney, shelley duvall, jim henson, tom davenport gibi dev isimler yarattığını anlatmış.
