• bunca zaman neden okumamisim bilmiyorum, maya angelou'nun siirlerini okumustum simdiye kadar sadece. asil bunu okumam gerekirmis. cok sade, cok akici. otuzlu yillarin amerika'sinda guneyli ve siyah bir kiz cocugu olmayi hic oyle suse, dolayli yollara basvurmadan yalin bir sekilde anlatmis maya angelou. istismar gibi agir bir hikayeyi anlatirken bile o yalinligi hic birakmamis.
  
  turkce cevirisi nasildir bilmiyorum ama ingilizce okuyabilenler bence aslindan okumali, cunku yazarin hayatinda verdigi en buyuk savaslardan biri siyah bir kiz cocugunun iyi ingilizce konusabilmesi ve hatta yazabilmesi, kisaca 'literate' oldugunu kanitlayabilmesi oldugu icin ingilizce'yi nasil ustaca kullandigi, hem bu kadar sade hem de bir yandan siirsel yazmayi nasil basardigi gorulmeli.
