• bir tindersticks tutsağı olarak, ilk dinlediğim anda çarpan, bölen, eksilten ve asla toplamayan şarkıdır.
  daha önce townes van zandt versiyonunu dinlemediğim için de kredinin çoğunu tindersticks'e vermiştim doğal olarak.
  ancak ne zaman ki rahmetli townes amca'dan dinledim şarkıyı, o zaman gördüm ki şarkıyı şarkı yapan ruhu zaken vermiş amca zamanında.
  ama elbette tindersticks versiyonunda iki önemli katılım var bu ruha:
  bir, stuart'ın sesi, ki tartışmaya gerek yok.
  iki, tindersticks versiyonundaki uzatılmış tekrar bölümü ve bu bölümde yükselen orkestrasyon ile kreşendoya doğru harika yolculuk.
  yemeği van zandt amca yapmış, tindersticks de baharatını katmış diyelim.
  diyelim de bu yemek öyle kolay kolay boğazından geçmiyor insanın.
  hele kathleen artık çok uzaklardayken...
• batı müziğinde herkes kendi hikayesini anlatır diye düşünürüz hep, türk müziğinde ise böyle değildir; bir kadın çok rahatlıkla "dün gece bir şuhun bezmine gittim" diyebilir.. meret becker kathleeni öyle bir anlatmış^* ki.. kafamdaki bütün bu kuralları yıkarcasına "soon i'm gonna see my sweet kathleen" diyor aynı acıyı hissettirerek. harika.
