• hızlı fakat iron maiden'la alakası olmayan, petrucinin mütamadiyen konuşturduğu, awake albümündeki şarkılara benzeyen ve hatta direk lie'a bir göndermenin yapıldığı, dream theaterın hiç denemediği tarzda vokal barındıran gayet hoş şarkı..
• 7:22 de metallica - blackened sample'ı tespit edilebilir dt parçası. ama parça zaten birçok bölümden ibaret olduğu için muhteşem.
• yeni dream theater hayvanlığı...
  
  nefis vokal, harika müzik, enfes bateri. başı nevermore, devamı dream theater arda sırada metallica, bir yerlerde megadeth... bir ton şarkıya gönderme, aksak ritmin dibine vurma. bir theater fanı daha ne istiyebilir, müzik seven kişi başka ne arayabilir?
  
  ayrıca bir sekansta bir önceki albümden^* glass prison'a gönderme olduğu da kaçırılmamalı.

  the glass prison was written about the first 3 steps in the alcoholics anonymous 12-step program, and after sdoit came out mike^* said he would like to write a song on each album that continued with the story. this dying soul is about steps 4 and 5.
  
  the two songs share some lyrics and a riff, and there is also some small references to the mirror, which is also about mike's struggle with alcoholism.
• gaz bir parçadır. hele girişi hiç alışık olmadığımız bir giriştir; portnoy'un crosslarının bunda büyük etkisi vardır. sonlara doğru petrucci ve portnoy kendini kaybediyor adeta ve bize bu eşsiz parçayı sunuyor.
• 5:46'da muhteşem bir piyano kısmından sonra 5:59'da labrie'nin muhteşem çift sesli vokali başlar. akabinde 6:30'da ansızın gelen ataklar üzerine değişen ritmle glass prison'a geçiş inanılmaz olmuştur.. loopta dinlenmelidir...
