  tok bir sesi vardir, eserlerde caldigi cogunlukla farkedilmez, ancak yoklugu hemen farkedilir.
  sekil olarak tefin zilsizi, derini ve capi 35-50 santim civarinda olani düsünülmelidir.
  elde de bacak arasinda da calinabilir. bacak arasinda calinmasi velveleli calmaya ve diger elin de kullanimina imkan tanidigi icin tercih sebebi olabilir, ancak ses bogulabilir.
  kasnaga deri gerilmislerinin sesi daha dogal ve doyurucu ciksa da, bakimi cok zordur. derinin periyodik araliklarla yaglanmasi ve sahneden önce isitilmasi gerekir.
  suni derili olanlari ise gerek degisken hava sartlarina uyumu, gerekse bakimi ve daha kolay gerginlik ayarlamasi saglamasiyla pratik ve verimlidir.
