jack vance

• maden mühendisliği, fizik ve gazetecilik gibi alakasız bölümlerde okuyup hepsini yarıda bırakan ve kendini bilime kurguya öyküye veren bir yazar kişidir kendisi. 1952 yayınladığı "big planet" adlı öyküyle camiada adından söz ettiren yazar "the dragon masters" adlı eseriyle ilk hugo'sunu almış 1967'de yazmış olduğu en son kale adlı romanıyla da hem hugo hem nebula ödüllerini kazanmıştır.
