  pek muhterem bir albümdür nazarımızda..
• m.s. 43-50 yılı civarında, günümüz londra'sının merkezi olan city of london bölgesine romalıların yerleşmesiyle kurulan şehir. bu bölgenin tercih edilmesindeki ana neden, thames nehrinin burada nispeten daha dar olmasıdır. bu sayede nehrin güneyi ile kuzeyi arasında geçişi sağlayan bir köprünün^* inşa edilmesi mümkün olmuştur. tahmini haritasına baktığımızda, günümüzdeki london bridge'in biraz ilerisine yapildigini gorebilirz. açılıp kapatılabilen mekanizması ve ilerleyen yüzyıllarda üzerine birden fazla katlı yapılar kurulması ile o dönemin mühendislik harikalarından biri olarak kabul edilmiştir.
  
  haliyle londinium'dan günümüze çok az sayıda yapı kalmıştır. mesela guildhall'da artık yalnızca yerinin işaretlendiği bir akropolis, tower hill tarafında ve diğer başka yerde londra duvarının bir parçası ve museum of london'da sergilenen kalıntılar. ayrıca haritada thames nehri'ne dökülen walbrook nehri, kaybolan londra nehirlerinden biridir ve nehrin konumunda bu nehrin anısına bir eser yapılmıştır.
