• bir çok black metal müzisyeninin çok etkilendiklerini söyledikleri sodom albümü...
• alman thrash metal grubu sodom'un 1987 tarihli albümü ve grubun ilk uzunçalarıdır. in the sign of evil'a göre biraz daha profesyonelce yazılmış ve düzenlenmiş şarkılar içermektedir ama yine de olgun bir çalışma değildir.
  
  in the sign of evil'dan sonra gruptan ayrılan grave violator yerine bu albümde farklı gitaristler ile çalışılmıştır.
  
  bu albümün iki versiyonu vardır. ilk versiyon destructor isimli gitarist ile kaydedilmiştir. prodüksiyonu plak şirketi tarafından beğenilmeyen bu versiyon abd'de piyasaya sürülmüştür. ikinci versiyon ise ahathoor isimli gitarist ile tekrardan yapılan bir kayıttır ve bu versiyonda diğerinde olmayan after the deluge şarkısı bulunur. birçok hayran bu versiyonu fazla temiz bulur ve ilk 'kötü' versiyonu tercih etmektedir.
  
  albümde çalan destructor daha sonra bir motorsiklet kazasında hayatını kaybetmiştir. r.ı.p.
