• nazarimda hem ciktigi yilin hem de 80lerin en asmis albümü ünvanina sahip olan 80 tarihli talking heads mucizesi remain in lightin 3 numarali roketi. kendisinden sonra gelen -ondan bile muhtesem- once in a lifetime la birlikte, zaten daha ilk saniyelerinden itibaren (bkz: born under punches) oldukca yükseklerde ucan albümün peak noktasina isaret eder. albümün geri kalaninda oldugu gibi her saniyesine kurban olunasidir. arka vokallerle beraber o funky baslarin icinde eriyip gitmemek, parca boyunca hic degismeyen o insanüstü poliritmlere -ellerle ayaklarla hatta vücudun her bölgesiyle- eslik etmemek, bu ilahi ritmler araciligiyla 1 üst boyuta erisememek mümkün dahi degildir. icinde bulundugu albümün abartisiz her saniyesinde kendimden gecerim; ancak bu parcayla itibaren nirvana ya ulasmam an meselesidir (bkz: orgazmdan daha zevkli anlar). evet, albüm her bitisinden sonra kisiyi normal yasam formuna döndürüp kendini her dinletisindeyse bu parcayla tekrardan nirvanaya ulastirir. sözleri -once in a lifetime kadar olmasin- son derece siradisi olup kizimizin aslinda yasadigi zamana ait olmadigini, yasadigi zaman icin yaratilmadigini (bkz: i just wasn't made for these times) 1 güzel anlatir:
