• timothy (tanner cohen) adlı eşcinsel bir lise son sınıf öğrencisinin, tutucu bir semtte yaşadığı hayatı anlatan bir müzikaldir. okulun eksantrik edebiyat hocası, okulun 54 yıllık geleneği olan mezuniyet oyunu için shakespeare'in bir yaz gecesi rüyası oyununu seçer; timothy'e de oyunun baş rolü olan puck (baş peri) rolünü verir. timothy, bu oyunda, kendisiyle cinsel yönelimi dolayısıyla sürekli dalga geçen arkadaşlarıyla ve aşık olduğu ama çaktırmamaya çalıştığı jonathan (nathaniel david becker) ile oynamak durumundadır.
  
  shakespeare'in yazdıklarından "yarısını anlamadığını" hocasına belirten timothy, hocasının "kendini ver" öğütlerine birgün gerçekten kulak verince, kitapta yazan aşk iksirini gerçekten de oluşturur. elindeki mor çiçeğin suyunu, bir insanın gözlerine serptiğinde, o kişi gözlerini açınca gördüğü ilk kişiye aşık olmaktadır. timothy, bu iksiri, tutucu kasabasının hemen hemen hepsini eşcinsele dönüştürmek için kullanınca, olaylara el atmak gerekecektir.
  
  müzikal tecrübesi pek fazla olan birisi olmamama rağmen, film beni müthiş etkiledi. özellikle seçilen karakterlerin müzik performansları şahane. şöyle söyleyeyim: filmle aynı isimde olan jenerik müziği hala mırıldanıyorum şu aralar. izlenesi, aşık olunası bir film ve izlenesi, aşık olunası karakterleri var. ^*
