• 'who would wish us on our people?' diyerek 11 eylül'de ve ırak'ta ölenlere ağıt yakan dream theater şarkısı
• octavarium albumünden bir şaheser daha. özellikle hem içerdiği mesaj bakımından hem de içerdiği yürüyüşler bakımından the great debate'i çağrıştırmaktadır. 11 eylül'deki saldırıyı konu almıştır.

• "who would wish this on our people?" diyerek yine bencil bir tavir sergilemiş amerikan ürünü. oysa kendi yaptiklari asla terörizm degildir amerikanın, aksine demokratikleştirme hareketidir. hani amerikalılar için butthead derler pek de haksız degiller.
• sarkinin basinda, radyo-tv alintilarindan once cikan garip seslerde, ozellikle sag tarafta turkce'ye gayret benzeyen dille konusan bir arkadas var sanirim.
  "..bi dakka gelecek sekilde gene ince ineceem once , acaba yine alacaaz ayni sekilde.." benzeri bir seyler soyluyor bir arkadas, biraz guneydogu aksaniyla galiba..

• octavarium'un geli$me bolumunun sonu olarak yedinci $arkisi. 10'42"lik bir $arki icin oldukca basit kalmi$tir kanimca ama dikkatten kacacak bir parca da degildir. kolay anla$ilabilir ve sindirilebilir bir parca olmu$tur ve progresife yeni ba$layanlara milli egitim bakanliginca tavsiye edilebilir. genel bestesi degil ama teknik baglanti ve enstrumental "session"ları itibariyle klasik, tanidik ve hatta $ablonla$mi$ dt ogeleriyle sarilmi$tir. ilk dinleyi$imde 6/10 verdim, onumdeki maclara da bakicam...
• başındaki seslere/alıntılara 11 09 01deki alejandro gonzalez inarritu filmi nde rastlayabileceğiniz octavarium 'un en iyi sağlam parçalarından biri.
• octavarium albümünün en duygu yüklü parçalarından birisi.peki bir lezizdir.dinlerken gözlerin dolmasına tekabul eder.sonlara doğru coşar.ikinci bir endless sacrifice gibidir.fakat pek daha güzeldir.devamında octavarium kullanılırsa bünyeyi siker atar.score adlı dvd deki versiyonu da muhteşemdir ayrıca.
• score daki canli versiyonu, album kayitlarindan cok daha $ukeladir, mike portnoy alenen dokturmu$tur o konserde.
• sanırım, mike portnoy'un sonlarına doğru bi yanlışlık yaptığı şarkı. neden sanırım dedim, zira bu kadar profesyonel bi manyağın böyle bir şeyi bile bile yaptığını düşünüyorum. çok dikkatli dinleyince 'aa neden böyle ki' demeden de yapamıyor insan. özellikle dream theater hayranları.

  2. bölümün başlangıcında (07:34) mike abimiz cymbal kullanıyor. aynı partisyonu 3 kere çalarken 4. sünde kısa bir süreliğinde hi-hat'e geçiyor-ki- bu şarkının başka hiç bir yerinde göremeyeceğimiz bişi. 07.34'ten 07.45'e kadar aynı davul partisyonlarını tekrarlar halinde cymbal ile çalan bu güzel abimiz, 07.46'da ise kısa bir süreliğine hi-hat kullanıyor.
  
  bu bende bildiğin paranoya oldu. çünkü şarkıyı her dinlediğimde, sanki o bölümde 'haydaaa, hoppaa, hop bi oraya bi buraya' derken yanlış zile vurmuş gibi geliyor. lakin bu fikrimde ısrarcı değilim, yani illa bu böyledir diyemem. ama dediğim gibi şarkıyı dinlerken hep o bölümün gelmesini ve yine şaşırmayı istiyorum. gerçi bu haliyle de süper ama, neyse. olur da bir gün mike portnoy ile karşılaşma imkanım olursa, aha bunu sormak isterim. abi derim, bile bile mi yaptın bunu, yoksa yanlışlıkla oldu da o kadar emek harcanmasın siktir et deyip albüme mi koydun. nasıl olsa progresifiz bunu da yerler mi dedin?
