floating bridge

• elektro gitarlarda köprüyü hareket ettirerek telleri hem pese hem de tize kaydırmanıza olanak veren gövde üzerinde bir destek noktasına tutturulmuş ama sabitlenmemiş tellerin ve gövdenin arkasındaki yaylar sayesinde hassas bir denge noktasında duran köprü sistemi.
  
  fender stratocasterlerdeki gibi tellerin kilitlenmediği bir köprüyü floating bridge olarak kullanmak ömür törpüsüdür. böyle bir sistemde köprünü hareketi dışında köprünün içindeki oyuklarda teller de hareket ettiği için sistemin başlangıçtaki denge tekrar noktasına gelmesi imkansız gibi bir şeydir. bundandır ki kolu her kullandıktan sonra tellerin akordu kayar.
