• elephants teeth sinking into heart albümünün açılış parçası, klibi dünyanın en güzel mekanlarından birinde çekilmiş ya da dünyanın en güzel mekanlarından biri oluşturulmuş klip için. öyle hisli, öyle dokunaklı ve öyle kırılgan ki... gözyaşlarından bile sakınmak istiyorsunuz dinlerken. rachael yamagata'nın yapacağını yaptığı şarkıdır elephant. ^*

• them crooked vultures'un aynı adı taşıyan albümünün hayvani girişli 5. şarkısı.
  hayvani bir introya, belki de son yılların en deli açılışına sahip olan, ancak sonra bir anda değişiveren, nakarata gelindiğinde bir anda biraz fazla farklılaşan parça. hani şarkının her kısmı apayrı güzel ama ne bileyim 'ayrı ayrı' güzel işte. sanki bambaşka parçalarmış gibi, fazla kopuk. o manyak intro riffinden sonra, aynı doğrultuda bir parça bekliyor insan ister istemez. nakaratı da, introdan sonra sözlerin girdiği kısım da ayrı güzel, ama sanki başka bir parçanın bölümleri olmalıymış gibi duruyor, bilemedim. öyle bir introdan sonra yüksek olan beklentilerimi karşılayamadı sanki. yine de hoş parça ama. sözlerini de ekleyelim tam olsun:

• gece dinlerken dikat edilmesi gereken bir rachael yamagata şarkısı. zira üs üste üç veya üzeri dinlendiğinde geceyi bırakıp şarkıya devam etme isteği uyandırmaktadır. bir kapı olsa da girsem içeriye dedirten, acımsı şarkı. "acımsı"tadları sevenlere...
• hayatıma girdiğinden beri beni bırakmayan rachael yamagata parçası. ayrıca bana hep ashes and snow filmini anımsatıyor, aklıma getiriyor o filmdeki inanılmaz kareleri...
• alkol ile alınmaması gereken şarkılar listesinde ilk sıralarda yer alır kendisi. ama kim uymuştur ki yasaklara, listelere? bu yüzden dinlenir de dinlenir...
