  yozlaşmış, açgözlü bir dünyada, güçlü bir simyacı, bir mesih karakterini ve yedi materyalist figürü, aydınlanmaya ulaşmayı umdukları kutsal dağ'a götürür. filmde sitüasyonist bir aşırılık gösterisinin olmadığı bir an bile geçmiyor; tuhaf ve ara sıra harika olan bir rüya tablosu gibi. senaryodaki kopukluğu görsel şölen çok iyi gizliyor. jodorowsky, izleyiciyi sonsuz bir vahşetle ve grotesk bir çöküş ve alçaltmayla karşı karşıya getiriyor ama burada bunu zengin, yoğun görsel bir hayal gücüyle ifade ediyor.
