philip klass

• 9 mayıs 1920 yılında londra'da doğdu. ailesiyle birlikte amerika'ya göç ederek new york'a yerleşti. hayatının büyük bölümünü amerika'da geçirdi. 2. dünya savaşının ardından yazmaya başladı ve ilk öyküsü olan alexander the bait'i 1946 yılında astounding science fiction'da yayınladı. 1966 yılından itibaren pennsylvania state university'de edebiyat ve bilimkurgu dersleri vermeye başladı ve "professor emeritus of english and comparative literature"^* olarak görevini tamamladı. 1999 yılında, sfwa tarafından author emeritus seçildi. 2005 yılında yayınlanan son romanı dancing naked ile, hugo ödülüne aday gösterildi. edebiyat çevrelerinde, satirist olarak nitelendirilmekte. eserlerinin çok büyük bölümünü william tenn adıyla yayınladı. aynı zamanda philip klass ve kenneth putnam isimleri ile de yayınlanan yapıtları mevcut. halen, 1957 yılında evlendiği karısı fruma ile birlikte pittsburgh'da yaşıyor.
