• 1968 tarihli bir casus filmi, kuzey kutbundaki bir uzay aracini ele gecirmeye calisan amerikalilarla ruslarin mücadelesini anlatir... basrollerde rock hudson, ernest borgnine ve patrick mcgoohan var. yönetmen john sturges. müzikler michel legrand.
• tam anlamıyla bir casusluk filmi. hani "james bond'u seveyim sana bişey olmasın" misali, ciddiyeti ve gerçekçi yaklaşımı ile diğer casusluk filmlerini cocuk filmi düzeyine indiriyor. diğer filmlerde çoğu zaman yakışklı ajan bi yandan mikrofilmleri ararken diğer taraftan en yavru hatunları bir bakışıyla düşürüverir, ama ice station zebra bu yaklaşımdan oldukça uzak. tabiki en nihayetinde kurgu bir film ve mantıklı olmayan yönleri var. ama iki buçuk saatlik film boyunca bunu hiç düşünmüyorsunuz bile. ayrıca evet, çekimler, efektler, sahneler de oldukça başarılı, en azından zamanına göre ve şu anda seyrederken de fazla üzmüyor seyirciyi.
  
  film ile ilgili başka ilginç bir not daha vermek isterim. filmin başrol oyuncularından patrick mcgoohan, dönemin en ünlü ingiliz televizyon dizilerinden the prisoner'ın başrol oyuncusu aynı zamanda. bu dizide tam olarak ne olduğu belli olmayan, çok üst düzey ve gizli bir görevden istifa eder mcgoohan ama bilinmeyen güçler tarafından bu istifasının nedenlerini bulmak amacıyla nerede olduğu bilinmeyen bir "hapisane kasabası"na götürülür. neyse, ilginç olan, bu filmde mcgoohan sanki the prisoner'daki hikayenin öncesini yaşıyormuş gibi. ve kendisi gerçekten de çok başarılı bir oyuncu, uzun süren the prisoner dizisinin çekimlerine ufak bir ara verip bu rolü oynamış ama gerçekten de çok başarılı oynamış.
