  elbette herkes bambaşka bir anlam çıkartabilir tüm bu açılımlardan. “wom” hecesine anlamlar uyduracak, arıyacaklar ya da benim gibi bulamayacaklar. gülümsemesini hiç unutamayacağım irlandalı arkadaşımın “kadın adını adamdan alırken hakları için tanrılarla daha çok savaşacaktır” cümlesini başka bir gülümsemeyle karşılıyorum sadece. belkide babil kulesinin kalıntılarından eski ahitinde hikayelerle desteklediği garip bir şifre kelimelere kazınıp ingilizcede de hala yaşıyan. wife of man anlamı ciddi tedirginlik yaratılabilecek bir açılım etimolojik olarak, türkçede bay, bayan kelimelerinde olduğu gibi beni hep düşündürecek. “an” ekinin göktürkçe çoğul eki olduğu bay+an kelimesinin erkekler anlamına geldiği düşünülecek olursa kelimenin eski eklerden çok yeni türetme cambazlıklarıyla ilgili olduğu düşünülebilir kanısındayım. ama latince düşünüldüğünde domine, domina (efendi) gibi sondan cinsiyet eki alabilen bir dilde bu yanıltıcı olabilmektedir üstelik latincede ingilizcedeki gibi kadın ve erkek kelimeleri arasında birbirine bağlı hece döngüsü yoktur. eski yunancada ise yine kelime köklü bir benzeşme yoksada ilginç bir biçimde ”gune”, “gunaikeioß” kelimelerinin anlamlarından biridir eş olmak bir erkeğe.
  bir lanet mi?, kehanet mi?, yoksa sadece varoluşun taşıdığı bir perçin mi bazen içimizde ya da dışımızda bize batan.
