layne staley' nin uyuşturucu ile taşak geçtiği dönemleri anlatan süper müzik eseri. an gelmiş ve uyuşturucu layne ile bitmek bilmeyen taşağını geçmiştir maalesef. heroin diye de bilinen şarkıdır ayrıyetten. ancak tahminimce kitlelere ulaşmada bu ismin yaşatacağı sıkıntı öngörülerek, efsanevi facelift albümünde real thing ismi ile çıkmıştır.
şarkıya yönelik iki numaralı götten sallama tahminim; bu parçanın çıktığı dönemden sonra yeterince* konserlerde çalmamasının nedeninin uyuşturucunun olumsuz karakteristiği ile pek alakası olmamasındandır. mesela aic, junkhead' i daha çok dinletmeyi tercih etmiştir; belki de merhumu daha iyi anlatan olduğundan ötürü.

bana sorarsanız pek sevmem, naparsam yaparım kime ne kafası hepimiz için acı verici şekilde sonuçlanmıştır. ayrıca bu ve junkhead gibi şarkılar nedeniyle kurt cobain chains'i eleştirmiş, "ben de çeşitli haltlar yiyorum ama kimseye ballandıra ballandıra anlatmıyorum. ey layne efendi, bebe şebeye kötü örnek olmaktan utanmıyor musun!" minvalinde sözler söylemiştir. zaten nirvana diğer seattle gruplarından hep bir ayrıksı olmuş, çeşitli tartışmalar yaşanmıştır. eyorlamam bu kadar.* -
